USABLE ART

USABLE ART is a fictional collection designed for Fést Amsterdam where household products that are seen as obstacles have been transformed into art pieces. In collaboration with three Dutch designers, Gert Wessels, Seeyoucharlie and Marjan de Voogd, I designed eight art objects from their own residual material.

Our need to fill our interiors with design is increasing. Household objects are making way for art, often at an unaffordable price. We invest in objects that remain of good quality in the longer term. For most starters and students, however, this is not an option. Despite the growing need for investment pieces, budget and living space do not allow it.

USABLE ART is affordable art with a function.
