PRIVACY STATEMENT

In connection with the effective date of the General Data Protection Regulation as of May 25, 2018, Artemis issues the following privacy statement informing students, faculty and staff how Artemis handles various personal data and for what purpose.

Artemis respects the privacy of students, staff, study participants, visitors and relations involved in Artemis education and research and the services provided by Artemis. We only process personal data necessary for the proper fulfillment of our duties as a Dutch institution of higher education.

OUTCOME

We process personal data in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations in a proper and careful manner. In doing so, we ensure a good balance between our interest and your interest as a data subject to make your own choices about your personal data.

REQUIRED

This privacy statement covers all processing that takes place under the responsibility of Artemis. This concerns not only processing via the website(s) of Artemis, but also processing in the administrative processes and in the supporting systems of Artemis.

PERSONAL DATA

The following (special) personal data may be processed by Artemis:

  • Student registration data (name and address details, date and place of birth, passport photo, student number, BSN, copy of ID, diploma for previous education);

  • Data relating to the Agreement of Assignment for freelance teachers;

  • Other personal data required by law;

  • Study and study progress data;

  • (Special) personal data that are essential for proper guidance of students and employees with respect to health and well-being;

  • Other legally required personal data based on specific legislation (HRA, Tax Act, Duty to Identify, etc.).

PURPOSES OF PROCESSING PERSONAL DATA

  • Registration for entrance examination
  • Appointment as an employee
  • Registration as a student
  • Processing and handling Agreement of Assignment freelance teachers
  • Processing study results and study progress
  • Handling your requested (study) information or publications
  • Handling personnel matters
  • Company security
  • Handling disputes

Your data will only be used for the above-mentioned purposes. We keep a central processing register. Personal data will not be kept longer than necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or used. After expiration of the period, we destroy the data.

RIGHTS

Everyone owns his/her own personal data and therefore has certain rights. You can request access to and the ability to update and revise personal data. And you can exercise any other right you have under applicable privacy laws, such as objecting to the processing of your personal data. You can submit a request or a complaint at info@artemisacademie.nl.

DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA TO THIRD PARTIES

Artemis may use third parties to process certain personal data. For example service providers, who in that case act exclusively on behalf of Artemis, based on a processing agreement drawn up for that purpose. Apart from that, personal data are only provided to third parties if Artemis is obliged to do so under specific legislation. Artemis may also transfer personal data outside the EU. We only do so if that country has an adequate level of protection in accordance with European legislation.

SECURITY

Artemis ensures an adequate level of security. There are appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against loss or against any form of unlawful processing. These measures are also aimed at preventing unnecessary or unlawful collection and processing.

CHANGES

Artemis reserves the right to make changes to this privacy statement. We therefore advise you to regularly check this statement for any changes.
