‘De Nieuwe Stijl’ explores the current shift towards an AI-driven visual culture. As AI develops at a rapid pace, the way images are created, experienced and valued is changing. For a new generation of image-makers, this raises questions about the value of human-made imagery, the creative process and the role of the maker.

The graduation project takes the form of a photographic experiment in which human-made images related to modernisation and technological change are reinterpreted using AI. The aim is not to perfect the images, but to explore how AI can function as a creative addition and what new visual possibilities it can open up.

‘De Nieuwe Stijl’ is both a visual experiment and a proposal for a new movement in which human vision and technology strengthen one another.
