Like the seasons, periods of grief and loss will come and go. Winter is a period that calls for rest, connection and slowly recharging. During the Winter Dinner, we gather around tables to winter. Nourishing, comforting and cathartic flavours remind us of the other side of life. In this way, we create space for all forms of loss.
In our current society, there is little room to winter. We go from success to success without reflecting on what we have lost or failed to achieve. But periods of grief and loss are essential and can be insightful. When we embrace the act of wintering, it can be a wonderful season.
