Creative Problem Solving

In this module, you’ll learn how to solve challenges and problems using a creative and human-centered approach. You’ll dive into the perspective of others, learn to ask critical questions, define problems, and develop new ideas based on these insights. The focus is always on understanding the needs and emotions of customers and other stakeholders. It continuously challenges you to look beyond existing solutions and create innovative products, spaces, services, and campaigns that truly make an impact on the target audience.

During the module, we explore various inspiring techniques and strategies that you can apply throughout the creative process. Through deep empathy and creative research, you’ll learn how to ask questions, redefine problems, and develop powerful insights that form the foundation of your creative concept.

The goal of this module is to develop a creative idea that you present in a visually compelling way.

Theme 1

Introduction Creative Problem Solving

This week, we focus on the first step of Creative Problem Solving: Empathize. As the name suggests, it’s about empathy—understanding and connecting with your target audience. We explore the importance of audience research and learn how it contributes to developing innovative solutions.

We take a closer look at the empathy map as a tool to visualize your audience’s perspectives. You’ll get to know various tools and create your own empathy map, helping you build a deeper connection with your target group. This forms a solid foundation for the next steps in the Creative Problem Solving process.

Empathize and Discover

Define the challenge

Low-Fidelity Prototyping

This week we take the step toward prototyping a campaign in lo-fi. You’ll learn how to bring your chosen concept to life using various visualization techniques. We dive into creating mood boards, storyboards, and sketches, which help you clearly capture the essence of your idea.

The goal is to present the concept as visually as possible, laying a strong foundation for further development. During practical exercises, you’ll have the chance to unleash your creativity and experiment with different ways to visually communicate your idea.

High-Fidelity Prototyping

This week focuses on refining and testing your chosen concept for the awareness campaign, both in public spaces and digitally. You will develop a detailed plan that enables the campaign’s execution.
